The terrifying moment a surfer's leg rope became caught around a rock as he jumped into the water has been caught on camera.
The video was filmed at a surf break in Bali on Tuesday, and showed a man being jerked back from his board's rope after he plunged into the ocean.
After he jumped off, he later appeared carrying his tattered and broken leash.

The video showed a group of surfers standing at the edge of a rocky cliff, planning to dive into the waves beneath them.
A man in an orange rash vest was seen standing on the edge with his surfboard underneath his arm before he leapt into the water.
His leg rope became entangled around a rock, pulling him back before he fell face first into the water.
The surfer was then seen unharmed after he swam up to the surface.
Daniel Bimasena, who filmed the video, told Daily Mail Australia he was lucky the rope snapped or his friend could have been seriously injured.
'Lucky his leg rope broke otherwise he would hit the rock,' Mr Bimasena said.

'Holy cow!! Was he ok?!' one person said.
'Good way to test the leash quality yeah,' another wrote.
Mr Bimasena said the surfer was unharmed after his fall.
