HRD minister lauds rapid growth of IIT-Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Union minister of human resource development, Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank', visited the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG) recently, and expressed his satisfaction over the rapid growth the institute has achieved during the twenty-five years of its existence. Pokhriyal assured the IIT-G fraternity of all possible support in terms of further strengthening the infrastructure of the institute. He said that funds will never be a constraint for those institutes which carry out research work that help in solving problems of the citizens of the country and ensure that technology reaches the households of every common man. Pokhriyal also emphasized on work with other top notch academic institutes of the country for solving the myriad problems of basic amenities that the citizens of the country face and asked IIT-Guwahati to work closely with other institutions of the northeastern region as well.
