Ludhiana: Two days after the death of a 10-month-old boy at his house on Sua Road in Kanganwal, the autopsy report has confirmed that he died of illness.
The autopsy was conducted on Wednesday at civil hospital by a board of three doctors, including Dr Ripudaman, Dr Harpreet Singh and Dr Kulwant Singh.
The baby had died on Monday under mysterious circumstances following which the Sahnewal police had received a complaint from his maternal grandfather, who alleged that his daughter had killed him.
The child’s maternal grandfather had said, “The infant was living with us and was fine. Four days ago, my daughter took him along. How can he get sick suddenly and die. My daughter must have killed him.”
Sahnewal police station SHO inspector Inderjit Singh said the doctors told that the infant was suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea which apparently caused his death.
“After calling her 7-year-old marriage quits eight months ago, the infant’s mother, along with her six-year-old daughter, eloped with a UP man. But after a month she left him for a Ludhiana man. Since then, she had been putting up with her live-in partner on Sua Road and gave birth to the boy 10 months ago,” said a cop.
