Witjaksono was in Delhi leading Indonesia Tourism Destination roadshow with 36 suppliers from Bali and other destinations in Indonesia.

“We consider Singapore as an ideal tourism hub for India. More than a million Indians travel to Singapore supported by nearly 216 weekly flights between India and Singapore,” Witjaksono said. There is ferry that connects Singapore with Bintan and Batam islands in Indonesia. “The package is inclusive of the ferry tickets, hotels, excursions, spa, golf, etc.,” added Witjaksono.

He said that 60% of the Indians visiting Indonesia go to Bali or through Bali. Therefore, the focus is to promote Indonesia beyond Bali for some time now. “Bali is quite familiar and known in India market. We have to educate beyond Bali destinations more,” Witjaksono added.

Nearly 6 lakhs Indians visited Indonesia last year, which is a growth of 12% over the previous year. Indonesia Tourism is aiming to maintain the growth momentum to reach 7 lakh this year.
