Ashok Leyland Ltd. has introduced Oyster, an air-conditioned midi-bus in the premium category in India. The multi-purpose premium bus, whose price has not been disclosed by the company, is designed and manufactured in-house.
It is targeted at office staff and tourist commute. The bus comes with capacity of 41 reclining seats.

At the product unveiling near Mumbai, Sanjay Saraswat, head, medium and heavy commercial vehicle business, Ashok Leyland said increasingly commuters are now spending more time on commute and there was a need in the market for comfortable and safe transport solution.
“Oyster is such a product which meets this need and makes the commute a pleasant experience. This bus has the latest and best in terms of technology and is in line with customer expectations,” he said.
