Ardie Savea offers tickets to scam victims

2019-07-25 12:13

Cape Town - All Blacks loose forward Ardie Savea made a kind gesture this week when he offered free tickets to fans who were scammed by fraudsters.

Daria Romanos and her partner Zac had spent NZ$790 (R7 400) on tickets they purchased from Viagogo, but they were later cancelled by Ticketek.

That meant they were set to miss this Saturday’s Rugby Championship game between the All Blacks and Springboks.

Fortunately, after being refunded by their bank, they purchased new tickets through a friend and thankfully will be able to attend the Westpac Stadium clash.

However, that was only discovered after Savea had reached out on Instagram as he looked to make the couple’s day with tickets to the fixture.

“Hey guys, just popped through Stuff and saw you and Zac got done with your tickets,” he wrote, with Savea not in the squad this weekend.

“Was reaching out of [sic] if you still had flights to come. That I have two tickets for you and Zac if you guys wanna come still.”

Despite the pair not requiring the complimentary tickets, Daria Romanos was warmed by the kind gesture of the All Blacks back-rower.

“We got what we wanted which was our money refunded and even a shout-out from Ardie himself,” he told Stuff.
