PATNA: Energy minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav said in the legislative council on Tuesday that all loose hanging electric wires in the state capital will be replaced with aerial bunched cables by the end of December this year. The minister was replying to a short-notice question raised by BJP MLC Krishna Kumar Singh.
Singh had urged the government to remove loose hanging wires and make them underground, especially in the narrow lanes of the city. The minister, however, said the loose wires can only be replaced with aerial bunched cables as making them underground in the narrow lanes was not feasible.
Singh also raised another starred question regarding alleged sale of fake medicines and cosmetics in Patna City, Gaya and Nalanda. State health minister Mangal Pandey said seven cases of sale of fake medicines – six from Patna and one from Rohtas – were reported recently and FIRs were lodged with police stations concerned in this regard. Pandey said three people were arrested and registration of the seven erring medicine shops cancelled.

JD(U) MLC Sanjeev Shyam Singh raised a starred question regarding mushrooming of illegal nursing homes in Arwal district. While talking to reporters outside the council, Singh said illegal nursing homes have also come up in Bypass locality of Patna.
The RJD and Congress legislators shouted anti-government slogans outside the council over increasing lynching incidents in the state. RJD’s Subodh Kumar demanded adjournment of the Upper House. However, his plea was rejected. Subodh alleged that dalits and minorities were being targeted and lynched by people owing allegiance to RSS. “CM Nitish Kumar tried to tighten noose around RSS and its sister units, but gave up,” Subodh said.
