ALWAR: Alcohol party in the buffer zone of Sariska Tiger Reserve (STR) has yet again exposed glaring chinks in patrolling by the forest department.

Recently, a video surfaced which showed six tourists going inside the reserve along with a gypsy driver and nature guide. They partied for six hours on Sunday. Sources alleged, alcohol was taken inside the park in connivance with a senior forest official as they were his guests. Though the forest department has cancelled the registration of the gypsy owner and nature guide and imposed ban on their entry in the reserve, action against the officers concerned is awaited.
Chief wildlife warden of Rajasthan, Arindam Tomar, said, “The entry of the guide and the driver has been banned inside the reserve. An inquiry has been set up to check the involvement of any forest officials”. Meanwhile, the forest officials remain casual even after death of a male tiger. Before this, Sariska lost two male and one female tigers and at least three cubs in less than two years.
