Design- The Budget smartphone comes with 5.7-inch HD+ screen with a dew-drop notch which houses the selfie shooter. The back panel of the smartphone features a dual-tone gradient design. It is made of plastic but it doesn’t feel like. The back panel is a fingerprint magnet and is prone to smudges so a protective case is a must and Coolpad ships this handset with one.
The volume rockers are on the right side and the power button is placed just under it. The fingerprint sensor is located at the traditional spot and 13MP AI single rear camera along with LED flash at top left corner aligned vertically.
At the top, you will find the 3.5 mm jack and charging jack while the speaker grills at the bottom. SIM panel is situated at the top left side of the smartphone, though it is Hybrid, which means that either you can put one SIM card with the memory card or two SIM cards together at once. The smartphone is really comfortable to hold.
Display- Coolpad Cool 3 Plus equipped with 5.7-inch with HD+ (1520x720) resolution. It got an aspect ratio of 19:9 and an 85 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display houses a tiny dew-drop notch at the top, which can be customized by going to settings. This notch holds 8 MP Selfie shooter camera also. The display is crisp and impressive but we feel that the display is not up to the mark under direct sunlight. The viewing angles of the smartphone are on point and the video playbacks are really very smooth and vibrant.
Camera- The smartphone features 13 MP AI Single camera along with LED flash, at the back while 8 MP Selfie shooter at the front. The device can capture decent photographs at daylight situations but below average at night. Sometimes the camera tries to increase the contrast, which results in overexposed pics. The details are fine until one tries to zoom. At this price, point camera is decent and match the quality of its competitors. The Bokeh mode is something which impressed us during our usage. The outline detection is really something that is worthy of mentioning here. The front camera comes with AI Beauty feature and can capture decent Selfies. Overall, the camera works fine and can click decent pics until the inner photographer inside you awakens.

Performance- Cool 3 Plus comes powered by 2.0 GHz MediaTek 6761 (Helio A22) quad-core processor and runs on Android 9 Pie operating system. The smartphone launched with 2 RAM and Internal Storage variants, 2GB+16GB and 3GB+32GB, which can be extended up to 32GB. The UI of the smartphone is very simple but it takes a while to get used to of it. The device keeps sending you abnormal power usage message, bad RAM management maybe. We have played lots of games like Free Fire, Wrestling revolution 3D to name few. The Performance was satisfactory compared to its price. The device gets hot very soon even if you are playing videos through Youtube and smartphone keeps sending notifications for the same, gets irritating sometimes. The smartphone comes with a 3000mAh battery which easily lasts a full day of usage if you are a moderate user. There is no fast charging available so, you can expect long charging hours. Fingerprint sensor and face-recognition work fine, considering the price of the smartphone.
Conclusion- Coolpad Cool 3 Plus is positioned at the starting range of smartphones. The smartphone has been launched in two variants, 2GB+16GB priced at 5999INR and 3GB+32GB priced at 6499INR respectively. If you are looking at the basic budget phone for basic day to day activities, then the Coolpad Cool 3 Plus fits the bill.
