Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran flayed the chief minister for covering up the failures of Kerala University and PSC in the conduct of exams.
Despite getting 292 answer sheets of the university in 16 bundles from the house of a University College student, the chief minister is claiming that nothing has happened. This needs to be probed. The answer sheet of the second rank holder in BSc exam was found from this student’s home. Then how did he get the rank? The chief minister must explain, said Chennithala.
The biggest examination fraud stands exposed and government is saying that there is no need for an investigation. The probe conducted by Kerala University is a farcical exercise because all members in the probe team are from CPM, he alleged.
Nobody is trying to destroy the prestigious institution (University College). But, opposition is pointing out only the malpractices that are happening inside the campuses which are sponsored by SFI goons. Similarly, we only sought to ensure PSC’s lost credibility since several SFI leaders have secured top ranks in exam results and this has raised suspicion. The internal vigilance inquiry by PSC is unacceptable, added the opposition leader.
Meanwhile, Ramachandran said the chief minister was trying to protect those who are involved in exam malpractice at Kerala University and PSC. “The chief minister is simplifying the controversies by claiming that all allegations are baseless. But, common man still suspects the sanctity of the examinations conducted by the university and PSC,” he said.
