Johanna Griggs QUITS House Rules: Popular host resigns after seven years - as she admits working in reality TV 'has been an eye opener'
Johanna Griggs has announced she is leaving House Rules after seven years as host.
In a lengthy statement, the 45-year-old thanked fans for their 'passionate support' of the show, which premiered on Channel Seven in 2013.
She wrote on Instagram: 'I've got some news for you all. After a great deal of consideration, I recently sat down with the network to ask to be allowed to step down as host of House Rules.'

Johanna added: 'They have very graciously agreed for me to [resign], which I'm incredibly appreciative of.
'As the show goes into pre-production for the next season, it's the perfect time to hand over the role to someone who will take the show into [season eight].'
She continued: 'Reality TV production has been an eye opener, they are such enormous beasts with so many people involved, and I've had a great time over the last seven years steering the ship, getting to work with many of my favourite camera crews as we criss-crossed the country.'

Johanna went on to thank the crew behind the scenes of House Rules.
She praised her 'best friends', stylist Rosie Trindall and hair and makeup artist Lisa Soames, as well as the show's writers Grant Osborn and Robert Adams.
Turning her attention to the experts, she wrote: 'I've worked with fantastic judges in Joe Snell, Drew Heath, Jamie Durie and Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen... and the beautiful and talented Wendy Moore right from the start of the show.
'She and design mentor Carolyn Burns-McCrave helped make every series so much fun.'

Saying goodbye: In her statement, Joh thanked the brilliant House Rules crew and said 'the best part' of the job was getting to know the teams
Johanna added: 'But the best part always for me, has been getting to know the teams. We've laughed and cried together. They all trusted me very quickly and made my job incredibly easy which I'm so thankful and grateful for.'
She concluded by saying that she is looking forward to pursuing other projects within the Seven Network.
'My role as host of Better Homes and Gardens, which everyone knows I'm crazy about, keeps me very busy,' she wrote.

'Hopefully now though, with a different workload, I'll be in a better position to take up one or two of the great opportunities that come my way, especially with Seven Sport, which is such a passion for me.'
Joh, a former competitive swimmer, is a longtime employee of Channel Seven, having first joined the Seven Sport team in 1993.
She has been the host of House Rules since its first season in 2013.
