In another development, the Judicial First Class Magistrate – III court here on Wednesday dismissed the bail pleas of the two main accused in the case, Sivarenjith and Naseem. The prosecution opposed the bail plea, citing that they would try to influence the witnesses in the case if they were granted bail. The prosecution also argued that if they entered the college campus, it might result in more violence. The magistrate admitted the arguments of the prosecution and denied the bail.
A minor commotion occurred in University College on Wednesday after a third year BA history student raised suicide threats in the college. However, it was not related to the current political situation in the college. He threatened to jump off from the second floor of the building after his love proposal was rejected by a student. He was overpowered by other students. Later, he was shifted to Medical College Hospital after he acted as if he was mentally not sound. The police said that no case was registered in this regard. They might register a case if the college authorities decided to file a complaint.
