Everything We Know About The Flash Season 6 So Far

The Flash's fifth season left our hearts broken after the death of Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy), which is maybe why it's so fitting that the show's newest villain kicked off the first trailer for Season 6 with the iconic line "In the end, there's only one battle, one thing to fight against -- an eternal enemy who must be eliminated forever, and that's death itself."

If that doesn't get you amped for Season 6, we don't know what will!

So far we've gotten few details about the upcoming season, but thanks to The Flash's San Diego Comic-Con panel, cast interviews, and social media posts, we're beginning to see a bigger picture coming together. Here's everything we know so far about The Flash Season 6.

It's back on Tuesdays this fall. The Flash will keep its traditional Tuesday night slot, premiering on Oct. 8 at 8/7c on The CW this fall.

There will be no time jump. According to Candice Patton, Season 6 picks up about 10 seconds after the finale, so there won't be any kind of time jump to give our characters distance from the events of Season 5. That unfortunately means Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris will still be deep in their grief over the loss of their daughter, Nora.

Bloodwork will be a major antagonist. The Flash announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Sendhil Ramamurthy will be joining the show as a toe-curling new villain from the comics, Bloodwork, aka Dr. Ramsey Rosso. He'll be introduced as a former colleague of Caitlin's (Danielle Panabaker), and he's described as "a brilliant physician with a genius intellect, and the world's leading expert on hematological oncology," but his work will lead him down a dangerous path.

The Flash's Disappearance Will Play a Major Role in the Next Arrowverse Crossover

Season 6 will be divided into two parts. This season will break from format a little in that it will have two major halves separated by the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. "In the past, we've had 22 episodes with one big bad," said showrunner Eric Wallace at San Diego Comic-Con. "We're going to take those 22 episodes and ... we're going to divide it up into two graphic novels. Graphic novel number one will be the first half of the season -- a self-contained story with Dr. Ramsay turning into Bloodwork. We go to Crisis for an interlude, and then the back half in a completely self-contained story that's graphic novel number two with a second big bad."

Cisco isn't going anywhere. We feared that The Flash's Season 5 finale was a soft exit for Carlos Valdes as Cisco took the meta-human cure and seemed to walk off into the sunset. Both the trailer and the Comic-Con panel disabused us of that notion, and Valdes even said Cisco would be "quarterbacking" more in Season 6 from the cortex.

Iris is getting some new employees. Thought Patton didn't reveal too much about Iris' journalism storyline this year, she did confirm at Comic-Con that the Central City Citizen is still an important part of her life and she'll even be getting some new employees. Showrunner Eric Wallace revealed that her new employees would appear "very soon" in Season 6.

We're getting another new Wells. As always, Tom Cavanagh will be tackling a new version of Harrison Wells, but the only way he'd describe this new character to fans is "sensual." Eric Wallace also revealed that Cavanagh will be playing Pariah in this season's crossover, a character who is integral to launching Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Danielle Panabaker will direct again. After making her directorial debut on The Flash in Season 5, Panabaker will be back behind the camera for another episode in Season 6.

Sue Dibney might finally make an appearance. In the Season 5 finale, Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) could be seen opening a file that said Dearborn, which comic book fans will know to be the maiden name of Sue Dibney, Ralph's wife in canon.

Hartley told TV Guide earlier this year "We're working our way towards [a love interest]... He's sort of worked the kinks out of his system, where he's going to be ready for that very, very soon. I'm excited for that." Here's hoping Sue is who he was referring to!

We're getting another new Flash suit. Grant Gustin teased another new suit in Season 6 when he posted a shot of his Entertainment Weekly cover shoot. In it, Gustin appears without the traditional cowl, but there does appear to be a bit of an under armor/turtleneck situation going on. We'll have to wait for an official still to see what other embellishments and adjustments have been made!
