Man charged after allegedly punching bus driver in face on Gold Coast

A 22-year-old man has been charged after a bus driver on the Gold Coast was left with a bloodied nose and bruises when he was allegedly punched in the face.

Police said the man approached the bus driver's window just before 8pm on Hooker Boulevard in Broadbeach on Sunday where an argument began.

He allegedly yelled at the driver before punching him three times in the face.

The 54-year-old bus driver was treated at the scene for his bloodied nose and received bruises to the right side of his head and eye area.

A 22-year-old man from Mermaid Beach was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

He will appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on August 7.
