State youth Congress leader joins LIP

Ludhiana: The state president of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) youth wing Talwinder Singh Mann joined Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) on Tuesday, along with his supporters. In a meeting of all district presidents, assembly constituency presidents and other leaders, the ongoing drive ‘Sada Pani, Sada Haq’ was reviewed. LIP MLA Simarjit Singh Bains claimed that against the target of 21 lakh signatures from people, they would get many more signatures for this petition. He said people were giving more support to this drive, as they were making the public aware about the cause of saving Punjab’s water, and if they have to give water to other states, it should not be free.
Bains claimed that from Rajasthan alone, Punjab had to recover Rs16 lakh crore for giving water. He said they would achieve this target in two months, after which they would give this signed petition to the petition committee of Punjab assembly for directing the Punjab government to recover pending dues from neighbouring states, or stop supplying water to them.
Meanwhile, after joining LIP, Mann claimed Congress was following in the footsteps of SAD-BJP, and corrupt practices had become rampant among the leaders. He said even officials of both the parties were continuing with their corrupt activities. He said in 2022, when LIP will bring a new revolution in Punjab, people would give them a chance to rule the state.

‘HONEST’ SIDHU FACING HARDSHIPS
While commenting over former cabinet minister Navjot Sidhu’s condition in the Congress, Bains said: “Navjot Sidhu is an honest person, and he is facing exactly those hardships that are faced by honest persons in the country.” He said he had asked him to join LIP through mediapersons, but he could not contact him personally, because he was not talking to anybody.
