(He) has certainly had a very, very bad day

Investigators will allege that the white Toyota HiAce Tiwas driving was crammed full of 13 cardboard boxes packed with a total of 273kg in crystal methylamphetamine.

'I wanted to expand and I also wanted to help out my younger brother,' one sibling said in an interview with a small business magazine in 2015.

'I suggested he come out with me on my run - he instantly understood why I loved it so much.'

(There's no suggestion whatsover of a link between Simon's alleged plot, the business he once worked for or Simon's siblings.)

A floored neighbour who witnessed the police raid on Simon Tu's home could only shake his head and exclaim '$200 million!' when told what he was allegedly involved in.

The neighbour said he had never seen the van Tu allegedly drove on Monday at the family home.

He said that his only issue with Tu was when he allegedly fired an arrow at the adjoining fence several years ago.

'They (the family) are good, usually,' he said.

Police have charged Tu with large commercial drug supply, negligent driving and failing to notify a police officer of an accident.

He appeared in front of Burwood Local Court by video link on Tuesday. He did not apply for bail and it formally refused.

Outside court, his lawyer Raymond Zhai said: 'My client has exercised his right to silence and I'm declining to comment on his behalf.

Mr Zhai said his client was doing 'as well as a man can be in custody.'

Tu will return to court on September 25. Police are beginning to search for whoever else was involved in the alleged drug plot.
