After working in 11 seasons of Masterchef Australia, Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris are all set to be replaced for the season 12, which would air on Television in 2020. The three judges are rumoured to be replaced by Curtis Stone, Maggie Beer and Poh Ling Yeow, if reports on Who magazine are to be believed.

But why were the judges let go in the first place? According to The Hindu, CEO of Network 10, Paul Anderson, released a statement which mentioned that the judges had to be let go due to monetary reasons.

Here's what the statement read:

"Despite months of negotiation, 10 has not been able to reach a commercial agreement that was satisfactory to Matt, Gary and George. Australia is full of remarkable cooking talent and we can't wait to introduce another group —and the next generation of exceptional judges —in season 12 of MasterChef Australia next year."

While announcing their exit, Channel 10 had tweeted, "After 11 sensational seasons, we bid a fond farewell to our judges - Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris. Thank you for being a part of this remarkable #MasterChefAU legacy and helping make the culinary dreams of everyday home cooks come true!"

For the unintiiated, George Calombaris was recently in news for underpaying his employees whopping $5.62 million. Post the incident he released a statement which read, "We apologise to all our affected team members, past and present. It is our priority to ensure all of our employees feel respected, rewarded and supported in their roles."
