CHENNAI: Udalveli Arts Foundation’s long-time dream of conducting a theatre festival for children in Coimbatore has borne fruit.
Held for two days in January 2020, the festival will have four theatre groups and one professional puppet troupe presenting more than ten shows.
The idea is to introduce the tradition of theatre to children. The shows will be held in a school in the city and one in the rural area.
Apart from students, the show is open to the public as well. Since a programme like this requires funds, Carnatic vocalist
T M Krishna will present a concert as a
fundraiser at Nani Phalkivala Auditorium of the Mani Higher Secondary School in Coimbatore on August 3.
