Rooftop bars, dreamy pools and sweeping views are all part of an amazing holiday experience - and photo album - but these cut-price hostels prove you don't need to splash the cash to have a luxury stay - or to get the perfect shot.

Travellers and influencers have voted for their favourite Instagram-worthy budget hostels, including a Thai offering with a swim up rooftop bar, and bamboo bungalows on a beach in Indonesia. And they cost as little as £7-a-night.

The list,released by Hostelworld, also includes a retreat in Costa Rica and a handful of Colombian hostels that are most definitely worth a visit. 

248 Street Hostel, Chiang Mai, Thailand, from £12 per night 

Those visiting Thailand on a tight budget can have the same experience as staying in a luxury hotel for a quarter of the price with a visit to quirky, industrial style hostel 248 Street. The hotel's unusual features include bathroom sinks made from tyres and a vintage motorbike in the lobby.  Guests can unwind in the rooftop pool and the open-air bar.
