Around 23,404 million passengers flew during the first six months of 2019 showing a 14.1 per cent year on year increase.
The airport provided 188,346 take-off and landing operations showing a 14.6 per cent increase year on year in HY1 2019.
The leading airport in Moscow Air Hub has 50 per cent of total passenger traffic. The number of passengers on international flights was 12,323 million people between January and June 2019.
Due to the increased demand for flights to Antalya, Beijing, Bangkok and Rome there is a growth in passenger traffic.
There was a 17.3 per cent increase in passenger traffic on domestic flights for HY1 2019, it came to 11,080 million people.
Destinations like Sochi, Simferopol, Vladivostok and Kaliningrad attracted domestic traffic.
Antalya, Paris, Yerevan, Beijing and Tel Aviv were among the most popular destinations internationally during HY1 2019. St. Petersburg, Sochi, Simferopol, Yekaterinburg, and Krasnodar were the most popular domestic flights.
Marseille and Palma the two new international destinations were added in the first half of 2019.Flights to nine cities in in China, namely Jinan, Shijiazhuang, Fuzhou, Xi’an, Nanning, Nanjing, Taiyuan, Zhengzhou and Shenyang were also launched.
The passenger traffic in January-June 2019 came from Aeroflot, Nordwind Airlines, Rossiya Airlines, Ikar Airlines, Royal Flight and Air France flights.Belavia and Brussels Airlines also started operating flights from Sheremetyevo in the first half of 2019.
Sheremetyevo served 4,616 million passengers in June 2019 showing an increase of 9.3 per cent compared to June 2018. The passenger traffic rose by 4.5 per cent and amounted to2,485 million passengers on international flights.
