Tamil Nadu: Man held for threatening Facebook acquaintance

CHENNAI: Police arrested a 31-year-old man, a native of Devakottai in Sivaganga district, for allegedly threatening a woman he got acquainted through Facebook and pestering her to marry him.
The 25-year-old woman, who works at a garment store in the city came to get acquainted with V Radhakrishnan through Facebook six months ago. The man came to Chennai two months ago to meet the woman.

Recently, the woman stopped interacting with Radhakrishnan after learning of his 'nefarious activities' and informed him to stop bothering her.
However, he kept on pestering her and on Saturday (July 20), he came back to the city and made a scene outside the woman's home, asking her to marry him. He threatened her that he would post photographs of them together on Facebook after which the woman filed a police complaint. After investigations, the Guindy police arrested the man. He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
