A senior biology teacher has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a female student at a private school in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
Detectives investigated reports a teenage girl, then aged 17, was sexually assaulted by a male teacher, 34 in 2018 at Reddam House in Bondi, a police spokeswoman told AAP on Tuesday.
Senior biology teacher Ben Fenner, 34, was arrested by police at a cafe last Friday and was charged with 11 counts of sexual intercourse with a person under his care, Nine News reported.

He was granted strict bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on August 26.
Reddam House has confirmed a member of staff has been stood down from all duties,
'This step follows notification on Friday by NSW Police that the teacher had been charged in relation to a complaint by a Reddam graduate. It is our understanding the former student approached the police some time recently,' the statement on the school's website read.

'We are most distressed by this turn of events and want to assure parents, students and all in the school community that Reddam regards this matter extremely seriously.'
'Pending resolution of due legal process, the teacher involved will not play any further role at the school. This is now a matter for the court.'
A school spokesman refused to comment further when contacted by Daily Mail Australia.

Fees at the exclusive school start from $19,305 for kindergarten and up to $31,045 for years 11 and 12.
The school's websites states it has more than 800 students across two campuses.
According to Mr Fenner's LinkedIn profile, he is an experienced biology teacher who has taught at Reddam for more than four years.
He was also the year 10 coordinator and coordinated the school’s Duke of Edinburgh Award program, his bio states.
