Man robbed of Rs 9.5 lakh outside bank

Gurgaon: A 35-year-old transporter was robbed by a man of Rs 9.5 lakhthat the former had withdrawn from a bank a few minutes earlier.
The crime took place around 10.30 am on Monday when Jaiveer returned to his car after withdrawing cash from Indian Bank on Gurdwara Road. “I had gone to the bank with my wife. After withdrawing Rs 9.5 lakh, I kept it in a packet and asked my wife to take an autorickshaw and return home. As I was about to start my car, a man knocked at my car’s window and told me that a few notes had fallen near my car tyres,” Jaiveer told the police.
As he picked up the notes and got inside his car, he noticed that the packet containing his Rs 9.5 lakh missing.

A police team reached the spot and after checking the CCTV footage spotted the man — who had alerted Jaiveer about the notes. A police officer said, “The suspect was following Jaiveer and his wife from the bank.”
An FIR was registered against the man under sections 379 (theft), 420 (cheating) of the IPC at City police station.
