AMBALA: The police registered a case of abetment to suicide against four people after a resident of Panjouri village in the district allegedly ended his life at his house on Saturday night.
Pritpal Singh, who was in his 20s, made a
video alleging torture by his stepmother, uncle and his wife before he consumed celphos tablets at 11.30 pm. He had posted the video in a few WhatsApp groups and sent it to his maternal uncle.
Pritam Kaur, the maternal grandmother of the victim, said, “My daughter Narinder Kaur died on August 3, 2017. Her husband Sukhwinder and his elder brother Sukhdev Singh and sister-in-law Renu had killed her for property. Later, my son-in-law Sukhwinder married Binder Kaur. All of them had been torturing Pritpal for property. “On July 20, at around 11.30 pm, Pritpal called my son Gurbachan to inform that he has been beaten brutally with sticks and shared a video that he is ending his life.”
Police registered a case against Sukhwinder Singh, Binder Kaur, Sukhdev Singh and Renu under Section 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) and 306 (abetment of suicide) of the
Indian Penal Code (IPC) at
Naraingarh police station.
