Construction labourer killed by co-worker

Coimbatore: A 37-year-old construction worker, who passed away during treatment in the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after he was found injured in a work site at Arisipalayam near Madukkarai a few days ago, was attacked by his co-worker, police sources said. The deceased was identified as S Boominathan of Pillaiyarpuram near Sundarapuram. “Boominathan, a native of Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram district, was brought to CMCH in unconscious state on July 14. He died without responding to the treatment on Monday,” a police officer said. Chettipalayam police registered a case. “Preliminary inquiry revealed that Boominathan was attacked by his co-worker Natarajan on the night of July 13, while they were consuming liquor,” the officer added.TNN
