Isro push for research at IIIT-Allahabad

ALLAHABAD: Indian Institute of Information Technology , Allahabad (IIIT-A), will on Tuesday sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) to give an impetus to research and academic excellence.
Both IIIT-A and Isro have agreed to work jointly for five years. The formal announcement will be made on Tuesday at the Jhalwa campus of the institute after the signing of MoU by director, capacity building program office, Isro (Bangalore) Dr PV Venkatakrishna and IIIT-A director Prof P Nagabhushan.
“The objective of the MoU is to facilitate enrollment and development of new courses for working professionals in ‘learning-while-working mode’ through PhD/ M.Tech/ MBA for professionals programs’ at IIIT-A,” Prof P Nangabhushan said.

Besides, the two institutes will take up joint education programmes and facilitate exchange of scientists, faculty members, researchers, scholars, technical staff and students for short duration.
“Continuing education programme through ‘learning-while-working mode’ will improve gross qualification index (GQI) of scholars and technical staff of Isro at IIIT-A while faculty members, scholars and students of IIIT-A may also be sent to Isro for necessary guidance,” Prof Nagabhsuahan said.
