Deadline To File Income Tax Returns Extended To 31 August

The tax department said said some taxpayers were finding it hard to file their returns due to various reasons including extension of due date for issue of Form 16.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the due date for filing of Income Tax returns by a month to 31 August, 2019.

CBDT said in a statement that it had taken this decision because some taxpayers were facing difficulties in filing their returns due to various reasons “including extension of due date for issue of Form 16”.
