A Lotus Evija Roadster Seems Like A Logical Stretch

The Lotus Evija has inevitably fallen in the hands of those who use image editing software to create some wacky and/or possible new body styles of certain cars. In this case, it depicts it as a Roadster, which looks very much doable, at a first glance.

Now, we won’t debate whether or not the Geely-owned car brand has any intention of making one, because that would be pure speculation. Instead, we’ll focus our attention on the digital makeover, which also includes a new paint finish, contrasted by the same black accents found on the real electric hyper-coupe.

And since we’re on a show and tell level, we also found other renderings of the Evija, made by Aksyonov Nikita. In this case, the renderings show it with a matte black look and different color shades applied all around, including red, white, green and blue. Additionally, the British electric hypercar has been envisioned in white, with black accents and red side mirror caps.

While the internet is having its way with the Evija, Lotus is currently accepting orders for it, with a £250,000 ($312,429/€278,393) deposit in the United Kingdom, which will be deducted from the final price of £1.7 million ($2.1/€1.9 million).

In order to ensure exclusivity, production will be capped at 130 units. Each one will pack four electric motors, with a combined output of 2,000 PS (1,972 hp / 1,471 kW) and 1,700 Nm (1,254 lb-ft) of torque. The Evija will hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 3 seconds, topping out at 320+ km/h (200 mph). Production will start next year.
