The ultimate DIY wedding: Bride, 34, purchases all her wedding decor from Kmart for $800 - before making $650 back by selling them on Facebook
- Amber Murtagh married her husband Tyrone, 33, in a $13,000 wedding at Branell Homestead, Queensland
- The jubilant couple managed to save some serious money on decorations by sourcing them from Kmart
- The Brisbane-based pair spent $800 on fairy lights, floral displays, wine glasses, curtains and mason jars
- After the wedding was over all of the decor was sold on Facebook marketplace for a tidy sum of $650
Bride Amber Murtagh was startled when wedding decorators quoted her upwards of $3,000 for use of their products, $600 to set it up and another $600 to remove it all after her big day in May.
The 34-year-old from Brisbane had 'specific styling' in mind but still wanted to get married on a budget, so she called into her local Kmart store for some inspiration.
'I found so many items that were very pretty and suited the quirky, boho theme I had been planning out in a wedding diary for the last 14 months,' she told Femail.

'The hoop above our bridal table was a $15 hoola hoop and four $5 vines wrapped around it with some white flowers I had deconstructed from a bunch I bought online,' she said.
'I used rope to tie the hoop above our head and hung some glass baubles to create a whimsical effect. All up the hoop design was about $50 in total.'

In total the couple spent $800 on all of the decorations and re-sold them weeks after the wedding for $650, meaning they were only out of pocket $150

Amber purchased $10 bar buckets, which came with bottle openers, $1.50 mason jars for the reception with hessian lace wrapped around them, $7 pink peonies for the centrepieces on each table and five $10 fairy lights for the arbor
There was a bamboo ladder with eight $5 Kmart grape vines wrapped around it and $5 wire string lights to make it look 'magical' in the centre of the room.
Thirteen tables were adorned with $6 grey table runners and on top of the plates she put $2 Kmart grey linen look fabric napkins.
'For the table I needed 65 wine glasses so I purchased Kmart ones at $10 for a box of six,' she said.
'I wanted the walls to be decorated too so bought a love picture for $7, blue neon love light for $9 and sheer white curtains down the sides of the wedding arbor.'
To entertain the children attending her wedding she wrapped Kmart grape vines around a swing down the side of the property and bought $19 tepees for them to hide in.
'I put two $8 cushions inside for the kids to sit on and placed two $5 wooden games down beside it for them to play,' she said.

'We paid $13,000 for the entire wedding including two nights at Branell Homestead before the weeding for us and the whole bridal party,' she said.
Her Ferrari Bridal wedding was $1,495, shoes were $20 from Spendless and catering was $35 a head.
'We didn't borrow any money to pay for it and so many people told us the set up looked way more expensive than it was,' she said.
