A Melbourne train station has been named as a place to avoid by travel guide giant Lonely Planet and online review service Yelp.
Broadmeadows railway station, in the north of the city, offers metro trains into town and links up with a bus service coming from Tullamarine airport.
Despite its convenience, it has been labelled as a dangerous location for commuters to travel to and from.
The Lonely Planet travel guide, an internationally trusted source of travel information for nomads of all ages, had some choice words about Broadsmeadows station when outlining Melbourne airport transfers.

In the post, the guide offers a budget route for travellers to take instead of the more expensive SkyBus service to get into Melbourne from the airport.
The route involves taking a bus to Broadmeadows station, where the guide book says is 'not the best place to hang out at night.'
Lonely Planet are not the only ones steering clear of Broadsmeadow, with Yelp reviewers also warning of the 'rough' location.

One Yelp user warned others to try and spend as little time there as possible.
'Broadmeadows is well known for its high crime rates and youth unemployment, making the train station a popular hangout for unsavoury types,' she wrote.
'Because of this I always feel a little uneasy.'
An American tourist in Australia had further warnings about the 'rugged station.'

The 'Fix the Station' campaign has been launched by the Hume Council to renovate the site into a transport hub, after nearby stations Frankston and Ringwood have completed recent renewals.
Broadmeadows has seen a string of terrifying crimes including carjackings, home invasions and armed robberies in recent months alone.
