Bus-truck collision leaves 30 injured

Mangaluru: About 30 people were injured, including two drivers, in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck near Thodar Mosque on Tuesday.
According to police, the private bus plying from Mangaluru to Moodbidri, rammed into a truck coming from the opposite direction.
Police added that it was raining heavily, and the driver may have failed to notice the oncoming vehicle. The incident took place around 11am.
Police added that due to the collision, the front portions of both the vehicles were damaged extensively, and locals had a tough time in extricating the drivers from the wreckage, in the aftermath of the accident.
Drivers severely injured
The drivers of the bus and truck have received severe injuries. They are being treated at a private hospital in Mangaluru.

The passengers travelling in the bus received minor injuries. The traffic on the national highway came to a stop for some time due to the accident.
A case has been registered at the Moodbidri police station in this regard.
