According to data released by the exchange, demand for power on Monday was 214 million units while total sell offer stood at 230.35 million units, 6.18% less than on previous Monday. Maximum price settled for the day was Rs 7.17 per unit, 14% less than July 15.
Demand for power continued to rise and remained more than supplies between 7 pm and 12 midnight during the day.
During the 7 pm and 8 pm slot, demand rose 16% to 10.52 million units compared to previous Monday. However, supplies also rose 16% to 8.4 million units during the slot. Price was settled at Rs 5.22 per unit, or 7.5% less than previous Monday.
For the 8 pm to 9 pm slot, demand rose 15% to 11.54 million units while supply increased 20% to 8.08 million units. Price for the slot was settled at Rs 6.82 per unit, or 18% less than on previous Monday.
For the 9 pm – 10 pm slot, demand for power increased 13% to 12.35 million units while supply increased 16% to 8.27 million units. Price for the slot was settled at Rs 7.17 per unit, highest during the day, which, however, was nearly 13% less than on last Monday.
Power demand on Monday, for the 10 pm to 11 pm slot, was 12.8 million units 12% more than previous Monday. Supply was 9.12 million units, almost 26% more than on Previous Monday. Price for the slot was settled at Rs 7 per unit, nearly 4% lower than the corresponding slot during previous Monday.
For the 11 pm to 12 midnight slot, demand was 12.67 million units, 18% higher than on previous Monday. Supply was 9.67 million units, 26% more than the previous period. Price was settled at Rs 5.7 per unit, 8% higher than the corresponding slot during previous Monday.
