Chennai could get rain for three days: Met department

CHENNAI: After more than a week, the city is expected to get some rain in the next two to three days. The day is likely to be cloudy with mild rain or drizzles on Monday, said the Met department. An upper air circulation which is edging closer to the city is likely to bring rain.
On Sunday, T Nagar, Taramani, Virugambakkam, Vadapalani and Saligramam received rain. Southern suburbs recorded 1.2mm of rainfall.

"The sky condition is likely to be generally cloudy. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur in some areas," the forecast said. The Met department said there could be heavy rain in isolated places over north Tamil Nadu in the next 48 hours.
An inference by the Met department said there was a cyclonic circulation over southeast and adjoining east central Bay of Bengal and north Andaman Sea. It said the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 36°C and 27°C respectively on Monday. It was 35.3°C in Nungambakkam and 35.4°C in Meenambakkam on Sunday.
