KGMU reunites Assam man with family

LUCKNOW: A man who had been separated from his family was reunited with them thanks to the efforts of King George's Medical University (KGMU) staff on Sunday, three days after he was hospitalised after being injured due to coming in contact with a loose electric wire. This was the 16th such incident reported at KGMU in the past one-and-a-half years.

On Thursday, Rafeek was found lying unconscious with an injury on his head near Kanpur Bypass Crossing in Dubagga. He was rushed to KGMU's neurosurgery department. After waking up,he could identify himself, but couldn't recall anything apart from the fact that he lived on Campbell Road.
"We sent a team to the area to trace his family. On Sunday, Rafeek took us to his sister's house. We later came to know that Rafeek came to Lucknow from Assam to meet his sister, but was injured after he touched an stray electric wire," said head of KGMU's neurosurgery department Prof BK Ojha.
