A Queensland man allegedly tortured a woman for hours by punching and kicking her and then shooting her with a taser.

The 33-year-old man was charged with a string of offences including assault and torture after the domestic incident at a home at Burpengary East on Sunday night, and will appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Monday.

The 24-year-old woman, who was also threatened with a gun, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
