Monsoon is here! The tiny droplets bring in new zest and zeal in the surroundings after the scorching heat. This best time of the year brings sudden change in the weather giving birth to many bacterial infections. Humidity, dampness and the sticky heat together pushes in pimples onto the skin. The little devils need a lot of care and pampering or else they end up leaving marks on one’s face. Tweak your skincare as per this weather to avoid bacteria birthing on your skin. The rule is to cleanse tone and moisturize along with exfoliation and masking. Here are a few points, to keep acne miles away and enjoy this season with a flawless skin:
Choose the perfect cleanser-Exposure to dust and dirt leads to birth of bacteria on skin and hence acne. It is important to cleanse your face 1-2 times a day especially after you return home after staying long hours outdoors. This will keep acne bacteria miles away from your skin. Also keep yourself away from excessive cleansing as it will strip-off natural moisture of your skin leaving it dry.
Defend your skin with Skin Defense sunscreen: The harmful UV radiation can even penetrate through clouds. Smear a light-weight sunscreen always before stepping outdoors. As it is recommended, top up your sunscreen after every two hours, use SPF in mist format to keep your skin protected from UVA and UVB rays. SPF mist is travel friendly, effective and can be used anytime on top of your make-up.
Moisturize your skin frequently- Moisturize your skin regularly to keep the outer layer of the skin properly hydrated which will leave it feeling soft and supple. Fluctuating rainy days makes the skin dry, sometimes oily too and therefore itchy. Use a gel-based moisturizer which is compatible with all skin types. The lightweight consistency of gel will leave your skin feeling refreshed yet moisturized.
Power of serum in rainy days – Serum is great during monsoons. Apply 2-3 drops of serum before your moisturizer having tea tree oil in it which will keep your skin anti-bacterial for the whole day. The light weight serum formulas will easily absorb into the skin and keep it non sticky all day long.
No makeup look - For achieving the lit-from-within glow, the most important thing is to stay away from heavy makeup. Always prep your skin with a matte primer before you begin to paint your canvas.
Touch ME Not- To keep bacteria at bay, wash your hands while doing an application on your face. Touching your face, especially the infected area will spread bacteria that can cause more acne.
Exfoliating- Exfoliation helps in removing dead skin and unclog pores. It also helps in regeneration of skin cells giving you a radiant skin. Choose products with ingredients like tea tree oil, charcoal, and yogurt. Make sure you exfoliate with these mildly abrasive ingredients to give your skin perfect glow this monsoon.
Toning in Monsoon - During Monsoon when skin becomes sticky and oily it becomes mandatory to use toner to remove leftover dirt and makeup. Choose toner with ingredients like tea tree oil, rose water or chamomile for toning your skin.
Sheet Mask – Use sheet masks twice a week to restore you natural face radiance and glow. Sheet mask is a treat to your skin and easy way to achieve flawless skin during monsoon season.
Increase water intake - Drink lots of water to keep the skin hydrated and to wash off the toxins from the body.
