Trains run over 2 men crossing tracks

Ludhiana: Trains ran over two men at unmanned railway crossings in Ludhiana on Monday.
The first incident was reported from Dhandari Kalan.
Government Railway Police head constable Kashmiri Singh said, “A man, who seemed to be in his 40s, was passing through an unmanned railway crossing when an Amritsar-bound super-fast train ran over him in the morning. The man is yet to be identified.”

The other accident took place in Sahnewal. A senior citizen was crossing the railway tracks when a train hit him. “A lineman called up the GRP, who took him to civil hospital. But he succumbed during treatment. He, too, has not been identified. The body will be kept at the hospital for the next 72 hours for identification,” said a cop.
GRP SHO Balbir Singh said, “From boards to street plays, a slew of measures are being taken to create awareness and avoid such incidents. But accidents at unmanned railway crossings continue.”
