Zorko investigated for alleged spit

Footage of Brisbane Lions captain Dayne Zorko appearing to spit at North Melbourne defender Jasper Pittard is being looked at by match review officer Michael Christian.

Vision emerged on Twitter on Monday from Saturday night's Gabba thriller between the Lions and the Kangaroos, appearing to show Zorko spitting at Pittard during the third quarter.

Zorko was lying on his back at the time as Pittard pushed into the Lion's chest.

Zorko could also be in the gun for a tangle with North youngster Jy Simpkin in the same passage of play. Zorko copped an errant foot from Simpkin in the face while Simpkin was being tackled by Brisbane's Marcus Adams. Zorko then appeared to press his fingers into Simpkin's leg, before Simpkin lashed out, kicking Zorko's chest.

Christian will release his findings later on Monday.

Meanwhile, North defender Scott Thompson had surgery on Sunday to repair a ruptured testicle sustained during the loss. Thompson copped a stray heel to his groin during the third quarter of the Gabba clash but courageously played on.

The Kangaroos said the veteran remained in contention to take on West Coast in Perth on Saturday.
