Woman prisoner escapes in Garhwa

Garhwa: A woman prisoner, arrested on charges of alleged child-theft, escaped from the sadar hospital on Sunday night. A prisoner of Garhwa sub-divisional jail, Sangita Devi, was admitted to sadar hospital on Sunday morning when she complained of stomach pain. Sources said three guards, including a woman guard, were deployed for security at the hospital. She was a Biktam village resident of Meral police station of Garhwa district. Garhwa SP Shivani Tiwari said, “Sangita was arrested few days ago from Bhawnathpur on charges of child theft. Action will be taken against the guards for security lapses.”
