Cape Town – Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix are officially engaged! 

Earlier this year, the couple sparked rumours that they secretly got engaged when Mara was spotted with a rock on her ring finger. 

Though they’d been romantically linked since they started filming Mary Magdeline in 2016, for the most part the couple has managed to keep their relationship out of the spotlight. So when fans speculated the couple were getting hitched in May, reps declined to comment. 

On Sunday, US Weekly officially confirmed the news that the couple are engaged after 3 years of dating.
