Showers lash city for second day, bring relief from sultry weather

Sharp showers lashed city for second day on Saturday bringing much needed relief from sultry weather as the long break in monsoon had made weather hot and humid. Rainfall recorded in Bhopal was 20.2 mm. In last 24 hours, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Rewa, Chambal, Bhopal and Gwalior districts witnessed rain showers at isolated place.

When it comes to maximum temperature no major fluctuation was witnessed in entire State though after rains weather become amiable with cool wind breeze in most of the areas in State capital and nearby places. Notably, the rains showers were witnessed after a 13 days monsoon break in the city and was need of the hours. Water-logging conditions was witnessed at some places due to rain showers.

Raisen recorded rainfall of 43 mm. Rains recorded at different places includes Dindori 6 cm, Kotma and Bichhiya at 4 cm, Umaria Jabalpur Malajkhand was at 2 cm, Sidhi at 1 cm. Maximum temperature recorded in Bhopal was coming to 37 degrees Celsius and minimum was at 25 degrees Celsius. Wind velocity recorded was at 22 km per hour.

As per Weather Department thundershowers likely to continue at many paces at Hoshangabad, Betul, Harda, Sagar, Panna, Tikamgarh, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Katni and Chhindwara. Rainfall recorded at Nasurllahganj at 15 cm, Datia at 13 cm, Begumganj at 10 cm, Ichhawar at 9 cm, Neemuch, was at 8 cm, Rajgarh was at 7 cm, Budhni was at 6 cm.

In next twenty four hours, thundershowers will continue in Bhopal, Ujjain, Vidisha, Sehore, Indore, Shahdol, Betul, Rewa, Satna and Harda.  Sudden splash of heavy rains along with thunderstorm brought much relief to the denizens in city. Humidity and heat was intact which was making weather uncomfortable by afternoon drizzling started which was followed by heavy rains in most of the parts of the city.
