KALYAN: Two youths riding a motorcycle died after a speeding tempo hit them at
Valdhuni bridge in Kalyan, on late Friday night. Police have arrested the tempo driver who dashed into their motorcycle.
Both the victims who were not wearing helmets died of head injuries as police did not find any injury marks on other body parts, probe officials said.
The duo has been identified as Yogesh Pawar (24) and Anil Vise (23). Both were residents of Saralgaon village of Murbad taluka in
Thane district. The police said on Friday evening that Pawar, who was riding the motorcycle, had come to Kalyan to meet their relative at Birla college area in Kalyan. As per complaint filed by relative Santosh More, Yogesh was returning back towards home, after meeting his mother. While travelling to Valdhuni bridge the duo was hit by speeding tempo due to which they fell from motorcycle and suffered serious head injuries and died during treatment.
Amol Jadhav, Police Sub Inspector of Mahatma Phule police station said, “Acting on complaint of relative we have booked driver of tempo who dashed into victim’s motorcycle and arrested him from the spot”.
