Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) on Sunday said it secured Rs 486 crore order from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (
NPCIL) for erection work of reactor side equipment of 2x1000 MWe (Units 3&4) Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project in Tamil Nadu being set up with
Russia.
BHEL had earlier secured an order for the same project for erection work of turbine generator (TG) island. With this, the company has expanded its footprint in the nuclear sector, the company said in a statement.
The company is also currently executing turbine generator packages for four units of 700 MWe, 2 units each at Kakrapar and
Rawatbhata.
