AISF hits out at SFI in Kollam meeting

Thiruvananthapuram: AISF Kollam district committee has come out against SFI for its “anti-democratic style of functioning” in campuses across the state. The AISF district committee report termed the style of functioning of the SFI as more dangerous than communal organisations.
The report said that SFI is treating AISF as its main enemy in many of the campuses of the district and hence they are not allowed to function. When the AISF was all set to gain power at IHRD college in Kundara, the SFI sabotaged the election. Their stand was that AISF should not get power at any cost in the college.
The SFI is sponsoring violence in many of the campuses and AISF activists have also become casualties in many instances. Due to this attitude of the SFI in many of the campuses, the communal and fascist forces are gaining strength, the report alleged.
Majority of the committees criticised SFI during the discussion. “Torture rooms similar to that of University College in Thiruvananthapuram are functioning on campuses like Kollam SN College. SFI has lost their morale and ethics and are unleashing violence on campuses as they realised they can no longer proceed with the ideology war, AISF said.

The report, which was presented in its district committee meeting that was held at Parippally, also points out their failures due to “organisational weakness” in the district. The district committee became a failure in taking up issues and spearhead campaigns among the youth, it said.
During the meeting, AISF state secretary Shubhesh Sudhakaran criticised minister for higher education K T Jaleel for his opportunist attitude. The minister is keeping silent on the issues concerning universities, he said.
