Ludhiana: While residents continue to enjoy the pleasant weather maintained by intermittent rainfall, there’s more good news for them as the met department has given forecast of light rain in the next few days.
After a brief spell of rain on Friday, which was recorded at 1mm, weather remained clear on Saturday morning and sunny till afternoon. However, around 1.30pm, clouds appeared again and it drizzled in many parts of the city.
The day temperature in Ludhiana on Friday was witnessed at 30.8 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees below normal.
Meanwhile, minimum temperature in the city on Saturday was recorded on the higher side at 26.8 degrees Celsius, which is one degree above normal and 2.2 degrees more than on Saturday.
An official at the Chandigarh meteorological department said there are chances of light rainfall in the next two to three days. He added that temperatures as well as humidity levels during these days are expected to be higher than normal.
According to the met department website, the day temperature is expected to rise up to 34 degrees Celsius by Monday, followed by a slight decline to 32 degrees Celcius till Thursday. The department has predicted rise in night temperature to 28 degrees Celcius till Wednesday.
“Monsoon has been good so far. As soon as it gets hot and very humid, it starts to rain, bringing pleasant weather conditions to the city. We don’t feel the need to use air conditioners round the clock as the weather is generally cool. The good-old fans are working just fine at present,” said Puneet Jain, a trader from Civil Lines.
