PGV visits ‘shah kotwal’ before leaving Varanasi

Varanasi: On her way to Varanasi airport from Mirzapur, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra visited Kashi Vishwanath and Kal Bhairav temples of the city and offered prayers.
After entering the city, she first went to Kal Bhairav temple of the city located at Vishweshar Ganj. Considered as ‘shah kotwal’ (guardian) of the city, she prayed at the temple and sought the blessings of the deity. She was in the temple premises for around 15 minutes.
She then visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple of the city to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. She spent around 15 minutes here also as the priest offered prayers on her behalf. Later, she left for the airport to be back to Delhi.
In her latest tweet, she thanked all Congress workers and supporters for being with her and trying to come to Mirzapur. She also thanked leaders and workers of all other political parties who tried to come to Chunar (Mirzapur) and stand with Sonbhadra massacre victims.
Later on the day, she again tweeted and remembered Sheila Dikshit. She tweeted, ‘Sheilaji will always be remembered for her years of exemplary governance and immense contribution to the development of Delhi. I will miss her wise counsel, her sweet smile and the warmth with which she would hug me whenever we met.
