GREATER NOIDA: A
man bludgeoned his 35-year-old friend to death and dumped his body in a pond in Sirsa village on July 17, police said on Friday.
The cops said the accused, identified as Aadesh, confessed that he heard a voice recording of his
wife talking to his friend, leading him to suspect that they were having an illicit relationship.
The victim has been identified as Arvind, a resident of Prithvipur village in Shahjahanpur district in Uttar Pradesh. He worked with the accused in a private factory in Site 5 area of Greater Noida.
The body was found in a pond in Sirsa village on Wednesday. It was later found that Arvind was last seen with Adesh a night before. Meanwhile, police detained Adesh on Thursday.
“Primary investigation has revealed the accused had suspected Arvind of having an
affair with his wife, over which he had fought with him before as well. We reprimanded him and he confessed to killing him with a brick,” said Sujeet upadhyay, SHO (Site 5 police station).
The officer further added that the accused produced call recordings of his wife and Arvind, “He said that he knew that Arvind had lured his wife into having an affair with him,” said Upadhyay, adding that the accused was booked under sections of
murder and causing disappearance of evidence.
The accused was sent to jail after being produced in a court on Friday.
