Over 77,000 seats vacant, second FYJC list on Monday

PUNE: As many as 77,480 seats remained vacant after the first round admissions of the first year junior college (FYJC, std XI) in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad.
The centralised admission committee (CAP) announced the vacant seats on Tuesday the last day for confirming admissions for the first round of allotments.
CAP chairman Minakshi Raut said, “As many as 48,701 applicants were allotted seats in the first round. Of these 26,520 applicants confirmed their admissions.”
Students who wish to enter the CAP process can fill up Part I and II of the application form till Thursday evening 6pm. These students would be considered for the second round of admissions, Raut said.
In the first round allotments, as many as 24,364 applicants had received colleges of their first preference. Of these, about 21,900 applicants did not confirm their allotments.
Raut said these students will not be able to participate in the second and third rounds of admissions. They were allotted the college of their first preference yet they did not confirm their admission hence their applications would now be blocked, she added.

However, they will be able to participate in the CAP process after the third round. For new applicants, students need to login to pune.11thadmission.net and click on student login and enter their ID and password. The existing students can also login and change their faculty, medium or college preference.
The second merit list will be declared on July 22 at 6pm.
