District Fire Officer (DFO) N. Avinash Jayasimha on Wednesday inspected the Ajitsingh Nagar fire station in the city.
Mr. Avinash, who rushed to the fire station after assuming charge, enquired about the staff present in the station and verified the records.
He directed the fire personnel to be alert in wake of the extended summer, and prevent human, animal and property loss during fire mishaps.
The DFO asked the Station Fire Officers to conduct awareness programmes in industries, hospitals, educational institutions, residential complexes, malls and other establishments on prevention of fire.
Hotels, hospitals, cinemas and other structures should obtain ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) from the A.P. State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department and maintain fire fighting equipment. Fire department officials will conduct mock operations and train the staff, public and students in operating the fire safety equipment and on rescue operations during fire mishaps, Mr. Avinash said.
