Man arrested with fake currency notes

Rajkot: A man was arrested with 64 counterfeit currency notes from Gariadhar bus station of Bhavnagar district on Thursday.
Police said the accused, Hasmukh Jhalavadia (34), a resident of Mota Charodia in Gariadhar taluka, was found in possession of 60 fake currency notes of Rs 500 denomination and four currency notes of Rs 200 each.

“During his interrogation, Jhalavadia said that he used to procure currency notes from one Bhupat Kotadia of Ahmedabad and circulate them in the market. On the day of his arrest, he was trying to circulate the fake notes in the market,” said S N Barot, inspector with Bhavnagar special operation group.
Meanwhile, police have initiated the process of obtaining Jhalavadia’s remand and launched a manhunt for Kotadia.
